DUNEDIN, THE NEXT DAY

Itinerary for the day (from top):

A little coffee for the time-difference. NZ is five hours ahead of us.

The Olveston House. It's the old voyeur instinct, I love looking at other people's homes.

A short stroll around the oldest university in NZ, the University of Otago. 'Geology' and 'Maori Studies' sounded very interesting indeed.

Lunch break and catching up with some local news.

Cadbury is actually UK and not NZ, but Dunedin has the only Cadbury factory that is open to the public, and because HC loves his discovery channel (see: 'how do they do it?' and 'how stuff works'), we decided to go find out how chocolates are made. Did you know that white chocolates are actually made from cocoa butter which is a kind of fatty oil released from cocoa beans when heated?

    1. Yeah it was fun, in fact so fun that we didn't want to come back. They have some chocolates which are only sold in NZ such as the Cadbury Jaffas and Fish, which were interesting to try out.

    1. I wonder if it's a guy thing, I remembered someone saying that guys don't grow up, their toys just get more complex, might be a bit of truth in that.

    1. My exact sentiments Angelica :) I couldn't figure out why there was one in NZ, but I could sense that they still have a strong affiliation to UK and the Queen, and Cadbury seems to have a monopoly there in chocolates, which might explain why. Oh and yes, many many sheep and cows, in fact someone told me before that there are apparently more cows in NZ than the human population in my little country. Humbling food for thought :)
